General Services & Programs
The Calhoun County Florida Senior Citizens Association, Inc., is a non-profit organization that promotes and provides a variety of activities, travel, entertainment, nutritional and special educational workshops especially planned for seniors of all ages and activity ranges. Our general services are for active seniors age 60 and older, however, for those that may be homebound or impaired we offer extended services to meet special needs.
Older Americans Act Program
The purpose of the Older Americans Act Program is designed to help senior citizens remain independent in the lifestyle of their choice. The program is available to those 60 years of age and older.
There are no fees for these services, but contributions are encouraged.
- Case Management -The Planning, arranging and coordination of services.
- Education - Instruction on consumer interestes.
- Health Support - Exercise classes and health screenings.
- Nutritional Education - Providing programs on nutrition in order to improve health.
- Recreation - Games, arts & crafts, field trips, parties, etc.
- Referral - Referring a client to the proper agency.
- Telephone Reassurance - Friendly call to check on the well-being of our clients.
- Public Education - Providing seminars and giving out information to interested groups.
- Companionship - Frequent and friendly check-up on residents.
- Screening & Assessment - Review of a client's daily nutrition intake and activities
