Our No-Show Policy

Passenger no-shows are defined as trips not cancelled within 24 hours in advance of the scheduled trip. Can-cellations at the door will also be considered a “No-Show.” In cases where the passenger routinely and continually cancels appointments, Calhoun County Transit will limit the days and times of travel. If the no-show passenger provides acceptable, verifiable evidence to Calhoun County Transit that the no-show was due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances, the missed trip will not be considered a no-show. The passenger has the right to appeal the no-show determination through the local complaint and grievance process or request a fair hearing, which is conducted by the Department of Children and Families.

Wait Time And Pick-Up Verification

Calhoun County Transit will wait on a passenger for five (5) minutes. If the passenger is not ready, the driver will leave the passenger. The day before the transportation is needed the dispatcher will call the passenger after 2 PM to let the passenger know what the pick-up time will be. If the passenger does not have a phone, the passenger will be required to make contact with the office. If no contact is made, the trip will be cancelled.

Suspension of Services

On the first occurrence, the driver will leave a notice on the passenger’s door. On the second occurrence, a letter of warning will be sent from the CTC. If a third infraction occurs within 60 days, a letter notifying the passenger that they have been suspended from service for a 30-day period will be sent by the CTC. When the passenger is again reinstated to the program, and if three infractions occur within 60 days, the suspension will be 45 days. When the passenger is again reinstated to the program and if three infractions occur within 60 days, the suspension will be 60 days
