Overview of Transportation Services

Calhoun County Transit is the Community Transportation Coordinator for Calhoun County, Florida. Transportation is available to the general public through a reservation system.

Services are currently offered through the Medicaid Recipient Program and Transportation Disadvantaged Program, providing an affordable way for eligible participants to reach appointments across Northwest Florida and Southern Alabama.

Funding requirements may limit travel to certain destinations to the following days:

Information Needed to Schedule

Please have the following information ready when calling the dispatcher:

  • Client’s name
  • Escort’s name, if needed
  • Client’s address
  • Phone number
  • Date of birth
  • Medicaid or Gold Card number
  • Social Security number
  • Doctor’s name and address
  • Appointment date and time
  • Nature of the visit

Eligibility & Special Needs

Riders must pre-qualify for the Medicaid or Non-Medicaid transportation program. Transportation should be arranged directly with the dispatcher rather than through another rider or driver.

Please tell the dispatcher if you need an accessible or specialized vehicle, such as wheelchair or stretcher transportation.
